Wallpapers

Today, I uploaded three new wallpapers with pictures taken during my last winter holidays. Watch them, download them, use them! For more pictures from this beautiful location, do not forget to check out the gallery, which has already been online for a few weeks.

Eurofestival

This interesting festival is ment to encourage friendly contact between people from different nations, through talking, cooking together, sports, and, generally, just having a good time.

The First European Peoples’ Festival was held in the Belgium town of Libramont in 1992, with an invitation to a town from each of the then 12 EU Member States, to participate in a Festival to commemorate the creation of the European Single Market. As a result of this invitation, and the success of that first Festival, it was agreed that this Festival should become an annual event, with each town hosting the event in turn. The Festival has grown in size and stature since 1992, with the links between the partner towns growing each year.

Eurofestival-Newsflash (19th to 25th of July 2003)
During the whole week there was a small trilingual (English, German, French) newspaper that was distributed on a daily basis to the participants of the festival. Its content varied from reports about daily events to anecdotes written by the participants themselves. It also contained photographs that gave a good overview about the happenings of every day. The editorial team was formed by three persons: Jean-Paul Schneider, Paul Weimerskirch (my father), and Michel Weimerskirch (me). While the other two were mainly concentrating on writing the articles, I was responsible for the layout as well as for the English translations.Below, you can find all of the 8 (resp. 7) issues as PDF-documents, as well as the ‘Special Edition’ which was distributed to the Schifflange citizens as a souvenir for this hilarious and extraordinary week.

Issue 0 (539kb) Issue 1 (451 kb) Issue 2 (414 kb) Issue 3 (990 kb)
Issue 4 (571 kb) Issue 5 (1′063 kb) Issue 6 (776 kb) Issue 7 (1′319 kb)
Special Edition (13′782 kb, 20 pages, bilingual (German, French))

Eurofestival Photos

Today, I had time to upload some new stuff. First of all, I added a selection of pictures I took during the European People’s Festival (EPF) also known as Eurofestival, which was held from 19th to 25th of July in my hometown, Schifflange (Luxembourg). Additionally, there is a new section on the Photos-page called Desktop-Wallpapers. By now, there is only one piece, but I will try to fill it with some more home-made pictures. Finally, there is a new panorama-picture, which you can also find on my Photos-page.

PHP-GTK-Installer

I uploaded an installer for the new PHP-GTK components. It creates a shell-extension for ‘.php-gtk’-files, so that you can automatically run a file named ‘whatever.php-gtk’ by clicking on it.

Globi

I added a new program to my software-section. It’s called ‘globi’ and simplifies the use of multiple Adobe Acrobat PDF-forms.

Panorama Pictures

I just uploaded two 360° panorama-pictures which I created yesterday here at my hometown.
During the next weeks I will probably have more time to work on my site so that you can expect several large updates.
